Was trying to work Don on ft8 on 160 last night (12/13/2023 local in NC). Saw him peak and then drop but working lots of folks. Then gone. Then saw someone spot him on 1814 cw. Tuned there and indeed, Don was there. Solid signal with NO pile up. In fact, one caller before me and one after that was too late as Don had left. So, Don, a big THANK YOU for getting on CW. So sorry. I guess the band simply dropped out. For me that is. I'll keep checking back. Good luck on the contest. By the way I really enjoy seeing people like yourself bringing Young Boys and Girls into Ham Radiio. I've enjoyed radio in one form or another since I was about 11 years old. Take care.

This is not important but Don may find it interesting. Maybe. I was waiting for the band to come up as it usually does for me from Nor Cal to Africa towards My Noon time. About 18:30 UTC seemed to be the last spot recorded on DXHeat. Bummer. I think I may have even been able to make a longpath contact as I seemed to her Don LongPath as well as shortpath. ( I made my very first LongPath contact to a Mobile operator ZS1PZ Peter Stuart if you can believe that just two weeks back) 10,000 miles versus 14,000. So I was just surprised to see Don's contacts stop at 18;30 UTC. I hope all is well with Don and his "Shack". I think I may have seen you on the cluster before. I'll keep my eye out. Take care, 73s.
