INTERNATIONAL DAY OF HERALDRY DIPLOMA
Heraldry is the discipline that studies coats of arms. Heraldry developed in Europe during the Middle Ages, through the identification of lineages and members of the hierarchy of feudal society, the nobility and the Catholic Church. It was also used to identify guilds, associations, territories, towns and cities. The use of coats of arms began in Germany around the 11th century, and later spread throughout Europe. However, in Spain it did not appear until the 12th century. The reason for the birth of Heraldry was to regulate the symbols that the knights used in tournaments to identify themselves, because when wearing armor and a helmet this was quite complicated. As an example, the coat of arms of Italy and Spain are reflected in our diploma, as a symbol of friendship between the two groups that usually activate the diplomas.
