ZS1KM, Carl Maritz, is planning an Overland/DX trip as he combines two hobbies as he is planning to travel through and be QRV from Namibia to Botswana between mid-December 2018 through mid-January 2019. The longest he will be in any one location will be three days. Carl will be taking an IC-7000 and IC-7300. He antenna selection will be "restricted to a tar heel screwdriver, a inverted V on a mast and a 12m vertical also on a mast". While traveling he will need to be "self sustainable with water food and fuel and battery power". Along the way he will be operating as V51KM from Namibia and A25KM from Botswana with plans for "mainly voice with some digital" on 80, 40 and 20 Meters.
