Information from his QRZ page:
I am from Malawi (7Q) and learnt about Ham radio through YouTube when I was searching for some stuff. And got interested to find out if we have amateur radio operators in my country and came across Don 7Q6M and he has been my inspirational and my peer.
Started to study to be a technician in early March 2024 and by April 2024, I sat all three tests thus technician, General and Amateur extra and passed all. In Malawi theres no exam administered by Govt so you have to be tested from outside and bring the certificate from theres to apply for malawi callsign
Now I am a Volunteer Examiner with WM7X
When I was studying for this test, I had not yet seen HF transceiver, antenna, amplifiers. Antenna turner or anything to do with this hobby and saw them when I travelled to 7Q7EMH to meet 7Q6M that is where I saw all these items.
I am now One of the first Malawian doing Ham Radio with callsign 7Q7EB.
Now learning FT8 Most with Chinese black brick with 33” vertical wire antenna for a start as I am sourcing funds to buy some starter up items do my shack so that I can be on the air.
