Brazil now has given permission for its hams to operate on 60 meters.
Permission from the government agency Anatel takes effect in 90 days, which will be November 28. Permission is on a secondary basis, 25 watts EIRP. Also, Brazilians may now use the entire 80 meter band, 3.5-4 MHz. Previously their upper limit was 3.8 MHz.
On 160 they will also have the entire band 1.8-2.0 MHz. Previously the upper limit was 1.850.
The new authorizations also include 135 kHz with one watt EIRP and 472 kHz with five watts EIRP. PY2XB, Fred, says it's been a long time since February, 2008 when they had an experimental license on 60 meters, callsign PW2M.
