    AU2V Sacrifice Rock News
We're thrilled to share that our team has safely reached the port and is all set to board the boat in the early hours of the morning!

Tune in to AU2V and catch the action live!

Our equipment is loaded and ready to go, and we're excited to share that we're carrying not one, but TWO boats with us - a small one and a BIG ONE!

We will be boarding the big boat, while the smaller boat will be used for support to land in island .

Stay tuned for more updates from our adventure!

We're facing some tough challenges on the rock! The surface is too hard to nail into, and we're struggling to find even a small piece of rock to secure our equipment.

To make matters worse, we've had boat acceleration issues, which caused delays in transportation from the big boat to the small boat. The sea has been rough, except for a few hours.

Despite these challenges, we're managing to operate two stations with digital and CW modes, albeit with low power.

We've made around 1400 contacts so far, but we're not focusing on the numbers. We're committed to giving chasers the best chance to make contact, regardless of mode or power.

Due to the CQ WPX contest, we've moved our WSJT Fox mode operations to frequencies lower than RTTY.

Thanks for your understanding, and we look forward to making more contacts! #DXpedition #HamRadio #AU2V

        Dear ham radio operators,

Thank you for your continued support and interest.

Please note that FT8 frequencies may vary due to CQ WPX RTTY. However, we are making good contacts on CW and FT8, and will try SSB on 12m as soon as it opens. We had successful 20m SSB contacts to North America this morning (his time).

We appreciate all recommendations and will do our best to operate according to conditions. Unfortunately, due to the rocky terrain, we are unable to set up our two sets of beams.

We encourage you to keep trying and not give up

All OQRS and other requests should be directed to the QSL manager after February 12th. Please do not send advance OQRS at this time, as a list will be shared with Charles M0OXO.

        Thank you for your understanding.

        73,
        Sarath VU2RS

                  UPDATE FROM SACRIFICE ROCK!

                  Dear IOTA chasers and dxers.

                  Yesterday's activity:

                  10m SSB
                  15m CW
                  17m CW
                  20m SSB
                  40m SSB

When conditions were tough, we switched to FT8 to ensure contacts. Note: This is NOT an FT8 expedition!

To those in the log, please don't repeat contacts. Give others a chance!

Long path to North America is excellent at 0000z on 20 meters. Try to catch us on any mode before we go QRT from Sacrifice Rock!

                    Hey everyone!

We're giving it our all on SSB and CW, despite the propagation not being on our side. We're determined to make the most of our time here!

On the digital front, we've had an amazing response - over 5,000 contacts in all modes. However, we'll be scaling back our digital operations for now.

Important update: We'll be packing up our antennas and getting ready to head back to the mainland by 3 UTC on Feb 10th, fingers crossed the sea cooperates!

Today's been a great day on the bands - we've been active on 10m SSB, 20m SSB, 15m, and 20m cw, and we've been thrilled to connect with so many European and North American chasers!

If you're still trying to catch us, please keep an eye on the clusters for updates!

                    Thanks & Regards
                    Sarath

Thanks for your support, and we look forward to catching you on the air!
