VP8WA, Peter Short, passed away Friday.
For many years he ran the only shop on the Falklands that carried amateur radio equipment.
He was very involved in helping visitors to the islands, including hams wanting to get on the air, including putting up some visitors in his own home and supporting the VP8SSI 1992 operation.

Bobby Short, VP8ADR is active as VP8WA from Walker Creek Farm, Falkland Islands.
He is working on HF Bands.

VP8WA was formally issued to my late farther Peter Short.

The Falkland Islands Communications Regulator has given permition and issued the call VP8WA to me.

During his years My dad was a very active amateur radio operator and also imported and supplied radio equipment to many Hams and commercial businesses through his store outlet Falkland Supplies.
