I received my Novice License, call sign KN9ZRL,at age 13 in 1959, then upgraded to Technician Class as K9ZRL in 1960. In 1976 I upgraded to General, then Advanced, as my personal USA Bicentennial Project.I passed the 20 wpm code requirement for Extra that year, but didn't get a passing grade on the written element. Finally upgraded to Extra in September, 2005, at Bloomington, IN, and joined the Bloomington Amateur Radio Club Volunteer Examiner Team the next month. I also assist the orange County (Indiana) Amateur Radio Club with their exam sessions. I obviously enjoy the role as a VE, , and have over 100 test sessions in the log--doing my bit to keep the hobby going! Pse QSL direct. Also enjoy Civil War and Military History, Amateur Astronomy, and Gardening in my Lilac garden.
