    Radio Amateurs from Norway will be active using special call sign LA35SAMI from Rognan, Norway, commemorating 35th Anniversary of the Sami Parliament.
    They will operate on HF Bands.

    About the Sami Parliament


    The Sámi Parliament shall strengthen the political position of the Sami and promote the interests of the Sami in Norway, contribute to equal and fair treatment of the Sami people, and work to create conditions that enable the Sami to secure and develop their language, culture and society

    The first Sami Parliament was opened by His Majesty King Olav V on 9 October 1989.

    The Sami Parliament is the elected parliament of the Sami people in Norway and is an independent elected body. As the elected body of the Sami in Norway, the goal of the Sami Parliament is to work for recognition of the fundamental rights of the Sami as a basis for safeguarding and strengthening Sami culture, language and social life and the existence of various Sami traditions.

    The Sami Parliament shall strengthen the political position of the Sami and promote the interests of the Sami in Norway as well as contribute to equal and fair treatment of the Sami people.

    The Sami Parliament is a democratic instrument for Sami self-determination and for the development of useful and necessary services and services for the Sami population. The Sami Parliament is the Sami spokesperson nationally and internationally. The Sami Parliament will contribute to the implementation of the rights in the UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples in legislation and practically.
