VRK80 AWARD RULES
Throughout 2023, one of Sweden's oldest radio clubs celebrates 80 years. To draw attention to this, Vasteras Radio Klubb (in Sweden known as VRK) will issue an award to the person who manages to work a sufficient number of single members, as well as the club's special call 8S80AA, to achieve a minimum of 80 points. The time window for the award hunt is between 1st of January 2023 and 31st of December 2023 and you can apply for the award whenever you want, even after 2023 has passed. To apply for the VRK80 award, please fill in the application, together with a list of claimed contacts, and send the documents via email to awards@sk5aa.se. You can, if you prefer, also post your application to the address below. We will not charge a single penny for the award and it will be sent to you as a high-quality and printable PDF file via email.
REQUIREMENTS: A minimum of 80 points in total.
MODES: Any regular amateur radio mode. No cross band and no cross mode traffic.
BANDS: 2 meters to 160 meters. No repeater or internet generated contacts.
RULES: Contacts with VRK club members (a complete list of members and a number of special calls is found on sk5aa.se). Any ordinary club member (or special call) gives two (2) points for each QSO per band and contacts with the club´s special call 8S80AA gives five (5) points for each QSO per band. This means that you can only work one member per band, regardless of mode, in order to be credited 2 points. For each additional band you work this member on, the score increases by 2 points per band, regardless of mode, or 5 points if you work 8S80AA. All QSOs must be made from the same country (entity) and all entries must be clearly legible. There are no endorsements connected to the award, such as "only CW". Electronic submissions are preferred and encouraged. To state your contacts, please post an extract from your log book as an ADIF file or as a simple ASCII file or an Excel spreadsheet showing just the call, date and band. Handwritten QSO lists are also accepted but must be legible. Any questions regarding the VRK80 Award are emailed to the VRK Award Manager at awards@sk5aa.se or sent by post to: SM5GMZ, Pete Arninge, Gottsta 18, S-72598 Vasteras, Sweden.
NOTE: The award is open to all licensed radio amateurs and SWLs worldwide, including members of VRK, but the latter CANNOT apply for the VRK80 Award until 1 July 2023 at the earliest. However, they can of course join the chase from 1 January 2023. We will do random checks on incoming applications to ensure that everything is as it should be and therefore NO QSLs are needed. To make the award chase more fun, we will number each diploma, where your position worldwide, continentally and country wise is shown.
Good luck!
