The five years of the Salento Peninsula Radio Group
For the weekend of 27 and 28 May 2023 , on the occasion of the fifth anniversary of the birth of the RPS group , Radio Penisola Salentina, there will be some activations with prizes and the diploma specified on this page.
On Saturday 27 May there will be a "multiple activation" in the municipality of Corigliano d'Otranto, where the transmission will take place from a typical Masseria Salentina (Masseria Costa, WW Locator: JN90CD94MS ); the following day, Sunday May 28th , there will be another activation from Collina di S.Ermete a Matino ( WW Locator: JN90BA66TK ), the place where the RPS team officially started doing outdoor activations.
Furthermore, for the fifth anniversary of the RPS group, a craft beer will be available specially packaged for the event and on which the label with the RPS logo will appear.
The beer can be considered, to all intents and purposes, "collectible" and is available at normal price to those who request it, at a discounted price for all RPS members; moreover, all those who will obtain the diploma by making the necessary connections will be given the possibility of buying the beer at a special price: the discount obtained, in fact, is our reward for those who connect us.
But not only radio : in this event visits from all friends, radio enthusiasts, radio amateurs and CB who want to come and visit us during radio activities are welcome, both in the location of the "Masseria Costa" in Corigliano d'Otranto and on the hill of Sant'Ermete a Matino.
This is an event for OM and CB .
Radio, Beer and... fun!
The event takes place in collaboration with the Campa Winery which offers its products at a special price to RPS members and to those who obtain the Fifth Anniversary diploma of the radio group.
The Campa winery was founded in 1976 as a winery for the production and sale of typical Salento wines . Since 2012 he has expanded his many years of experience with the production and sale of Craft Beers , without the aid of machinery and carrying out the totally manual brewing process up to bottling.
These are niche and sometimes seasonal productions , with the use of certified and first choice malts and hops.
For the commemoration of the Fifth Anniversary of the foundation of the Salento Peninsula Radio Group, we have chosen a light and pleasant beer: the "Beddha" which, translated from our dialect means "Beautiful".
It is a lager with a light body and low hopping, with final hints of ginger and lemon that make it a refreshing beer suitable for all dishes, thanks also to its low alcohol content (Vol. 4%).
RPS Fifth Anniversary information and regulations
For the occasion, the RPS group is announcing a short two-day competition, called the "Quinto Anniversario RPS", where the activating stations will operate mainly in mobile from the indicated locations.
Who is it for?
The diploma of the В« Fifth Anniversary of RPS DX В» is aimed at all radio enthusiasts, whether they are radio amateurs or simple CB radio operators : in fact, in our group there are both radio amateurs with a license for years, and enthusiasts of the Citizen Band.
For this reason, the diploma will be in two versions: the "OM Version" and the "CB Version": in any case, just write the name used for the connections in the field at the bottom of the page and our software will be unable to determine which version of the diploma to download .
Duration
The В«Quinquennial RPSВ» Diploma takes place for the duration between the dates indicated below.
The start is expected at 00:00 UTC on 27/05/2023 and the end of the activities at 24:00 UTC on 28/05/2023 .
Scores
It will be possible to download the diploma, in the "Standard" version, upon reaching the pre-established score achieved in the period from 05/27/2023 to 05/28/2023. Normally, each QSO is worth ONE POINT , except for CW mode connections which are worth TWO POINTS ; In OM bands, connections to the same station and on the same band/mode are valid provided they are made on different days; therefore, QSOs subsequent to the first made on the same day, with the same correspondent and in the same band/mode, are considered В«duplicateВ» (and, therefore, with a "ZERO" value) ; this means that, in the same day, several connections can be made with the same station, on the same band and in the same way but, ALL, will count as one and only connection
For example, summarizing :
♦ A QSO with an activating station in modes other than «Jolly mode» (CW) is worth ONE POINT ;
♦ A QSO with an activating station on CW is worth TWO POINTS ;
♦ Points can be accumulated by connecting the activating stations on different bands or on the same band provided they are done on different days.
In the CB band connections made on different days are valid even if completed with the same corresponding station.
Any emission method is valid for all connections, as long as it complies with the Bandplan and current regulations .
The following scores are expected , upon reaching which it will be possible to download the diploma:
Diploma В«Quinquennale RPSВ», version for OM:
♦ Standard Diploma, single level: 2 points for EU stations, 2 points for NON EU stations
Diploma В« Five-year RPS В», version for CB:
♦ Standard Diploma, awarded upon reaching 2 points
At the moment, there are no "Jolly Stations" planned.
Call
The activating stations, led by the OM members of RPS DX TEAM and by the CB members of the В«Radio Penisola SalentinaВ» club will make a general call on the bands under their jurisdiction.
The calls will be as follows :
♦ For OMs on CW: « CQ 5 YEARS RPS »
♦ For OMs on Voice: « CQ Fifth Anniversary RPS »
♦ On authorized CB channels: « CQ Fifth Anniversary RPS »
When the stations make the QSO, they will supply the signal to the corresponding station and some information regarding our radio activity (if in voice), according to the standards established on the frequencies; the QSOs will be noted in the LOGs which will be transferred in a short time to this web area at the end of each call session.
At the end of this phase, each station will be able to check the level achieved up to that moment and, if necessary, will be able to download the diploma in PDF format.
Attendance sessions
As a rule, call sessions by our associates are not foreseen in advance: therefore, there could be several stations on the air at the same time; to discover them, it is possible to consult the DX Cluster.
However, to help friends, some stations have established the following calendar, being able to predict when they will be on the radio free from commitments; we reiterate, however, that this calendar is not absolutely binding and will be updated periodically:
