    AM250JJ - Jorge Juan Santacilia

    This year 2023 is the 250th Anniversary of the death of the Illustrious Sailor and Scientist Jorge Juan y Santacilia from Novelda. To commemorate this important event, the Novelda Local Section URE, launches the following Special Diploma available to all licensed radio amateurs or SWL from all over the world.

    DATES:

    From June 18 (00:00 UTC) to July 2 (23:59 UTC), 2023. The 24th will be on air in a special way from the Casa Natalicia de Jorge Juan, located in the "Fondonet" of Novelda.

    DIPLOMA:

    Diplomas are awarded in only one category, depending on the number of QSOs made with the special station (or reports in case of SWLs).

    Stations inside and outside Europe: It will be awarded to stations with at least 5 contacts with the special station AM250JJ, whatever the mode and band and 10 for SWLs.

    All Diplomas will indicate the call sign of the applicant.

    To obtain the diploma will be valid the communications in each of the three modes SSB, CW and DIGITAL, as well as in each of the HF bands of 160m, 80m, 40m, 30m, 20m, 17m, 15m, 12m, 10m and 6m. Contacts made on the VHF and UHF bands, regardless of their mode, will also be valid, in addition to those made on DMR.

    Exceptionally, contacts made via the QO-100 geostationary satellite in the 13cm band will also be accepted.

    Only one contact per mode and band per day will be valid, always respecting the band segments described by the IARU for Region 1.

    The online check log and the position of the participants in the QSO ranking can be followed daily on the website am250jj.ddns.net.

    The log will be updated every 24 hours. We will attempt to review claims during the activity, however, within 15 days of completion, any participant may claim if he/she feels that a QSO is not properly reflected in the online log.

    QSL:

    Paper QSL traffic will be done via association/bureau for all participating stations, belonging to the Spanish Amateur Radio Union. For digital QSLs, it will be done via eQSL.

    REQUESTS:

    Participants will be able to download their personalized diploma in PDF format from the official website and free of charge. There is no need to send lists of QSOs as the log will be available on the web.

    SWLs should send their list of stations received to the e-mail address unionradioaficionadosnovelda@gmail.com until July 31, 2023 and the Diploma will be sent by e-mail.
