Until 685 BC, the year used to start on March 1, and had only 10 months (Martius, Aprilis, Maius, Junius, Quintilis, Sextilis, September, October, November, and December). In 44 BC, Quintilis was renamed Julius in honor of Julius Caesar, Julius Caesar had established that all odd months had 31 days and all even months had 30 days (except February, which had 29 days in non-leap years and 30 days in leap years once every four years). The day that February had left over at that time will be explained in next month's diploma. We hope that the diploma is to your liking.
