Like every year, on August 30, the Racibórz radio amateurs try to pay tribute to the famous Silesian Georg von Arco, who was born on August 30, 1869 in Gorzyce, attended a junior high school in Racibórz, then studied in Berlin, where he perfected Marconi's work. He patented the so-called superheterodyne (together with A. Meissner), i.e. a receiver and transmitter system with frequency conversion, became the first director of Telefunken, improved the production of electron tubes. In 2023, we will be broadcasting from 1:00 p.m. from the school (currently Ekonomik) where this brilliant inventor studied.
On this day, the SP9KJU/ARCO amateur radio station gives 150 points to the commemorative diploma. To obtain the diploma, between August 30 and September 3 (Sunday), you must communicate with four radio stations (4 x 1p) from Racibórz or the Racibórz district and collect 154p (154th birthday). QSOs can be repeated every day on a given band or on the same day on a different band or broadcast. For EU stations there is a qso with SP9KJU/Arco and 2 individual stations, DX stations 1 qso with SP9KJU/Arco.
The application in cabrillo format should be sent to the following e-mail address: sp9kju@o2.pl, with ARCO-2023_znak_radiostacji in the subject line. We will send the diploma back to the e-mail address provided.
Deadline for submitting applications is 14 days from the end of the campaign.
