    The Diploma is aimed at the promotion, through amateur radio activity, of symbolic cultural places of the two provinces and the celebration of the partnership between the 5 participating sections of Bergamo and Brescia. The accredited activators of each section will bring 8 references each into the air, for a total of 40 places of historical and cultural interest characteristic of the two provinces. The regulation, the references and the complete list of activators participating in the diploma will be published on the websites www.aribg.it, www.aribrescia.it, www.aritreviglio.it and www.arialbino.it in the section dedicated to Diploma and on the diploma website bgbsaward.blogspot.com as well as on the QRZ.COM pages of the Sections IQ2BG, IQ2CF, IQ2DN, IQ2VC and IQ2CP. Furthermore, the members of the sections involved will meet to activate another five references via laptop special (Joker) associated with the special call IB2BGBS, in a convivial day of radio activity e aggregation.
    Participation It is open to all Italian and foreign OMs and SWLs Period From 00:00 UTC on September 2, 2023 to 24:00 UTC on December 31, 2023.
    Bands All HF bands (10-12-15-17-20-30-40-80-160 mt) in segments recommended by IARU Reg.1
    Modes: SSB, CW, RTTY, PSK31.
    Stations The following stations will be active: Accredited Activators: Call + reference (Ex. IU2IBU + Reference BS11, BS12.. etc.) (Ex. IZ2LPN + Reference BG21, BG22..etc.) Sections: Call Section + reference (Ex. IQ2CF + Reference BS11, BS12..etc.) Jolly Station IB2BGBS: Active only in the 5 activations in portable (IB2BGBS + Reference BGBS1, BGBS2, BGBS3, BGBS4, BGBS5) according to the following schedule:

    ATTENTION! Jolly references will ONLY be operational on the dates indicated in the calendar, therefore that will be the only opportunity to connect them!

    NB: The references activated on the occasion of this diploma will not be valid for any other awards (DCI castles, churches, abbeys, etc.).
    ATTENTION! Each Station can be connected only once per activated reference, band and emission mode during the entire duration of the Award.
    Example: The reference BS11 Capitolium, associated with the call IU2IBU (IU2IBU+Ref.BS11) and already connected on 40mt SSB, can no longer be connected on the same band and mode for the entire duration of the AWARD. It will be possible to connect it again on 80mt SSB and in any other band and mode in which, associated with the same call, it has not yet been connected. The same Reference BS11 Capitolium associated with another IZ2FOS call can instead be connected again on 40mt SSB, but always only once per reference, band and mode. The IU2IBU call can be connected again on 40mt SSB only if associated with a new reference (e.g. IU2IBU + Ref.BS12 Vittoria Alata).
    Relationships Each Station + Reference will pass: RST without progressive number. Call SSB: “CQ BGBS AWARD” or “CQ Diploma BGBS Italian Capital of Culture 2023” CW and Digital: “CQ BGBS AWARD” QSO points Links with Accredited Activators (Call + Reference): 1 Point Connections with Section Calls (IQ2BG/IQ2CF/IQ2DN/IQ2VC/IQ2CP + Reference): 4 Points Connections with the Jolly Station (IB2BGBS + Reference): 20 Points Purpose and Diploma Points The purpose of the "Bergamo and Brescia Italian Capital of Culture 2023 Diploma" is to collect, from part of the hunters, as many references as possible in the period of activity, totaling points to reach the following goals:
    Basic Diploma: Upon reaching at least 50 points and linking at least 8 ordinary references + 2 of the 5 Jolly references in at least one band and mode
    Bronze Diploma: Upon reaching at least 90 points and linking at least 15 ordinary references + 3 of the 5 Jolly references in at least one gang and mode
    Silver Diploma: Upon reaching at least 120 points and linking at least 20 ordinary references + 4 of the 5 Jolly references in at least one band and mode
    Gold Diploma: Upon reaching at least 150 points and connecting at least 25 ordinary references + all 5 Jolly references in at least one band and mode
    EU Diploma: (Reserved for stations on the European continent): Upon reaching at least 80 points and connecting a minimum of 15 ordinary references + 3 of the 5 Jolly references in at least one band and mode
    DX Diploma: (Reserved for non-European stations): Upon reaching at least 60 points and connecting at least 10 ordinary references + 2 of the 5 Jolly references in at least one band and mode
    Diplomas and QSL cards The diplomas will be downloadable in .PDF format at the end of the activity. Each hunter will be awarded the Diploma (Base, Bronze, Silver, Gold) based on the score achieved and the related references as indicated in the "Diploma Points" section. All activators will receive a dedicated Diploma (Activator Award). All the stations that will be connected, even if they will not be able to obtain the diploma, will receive a special commemorative QSL card via the bureau. For those who wish to send it directly, they can request it directly from the Award Manager.
    Leaderboards At the end of the contest, three different rankings will be drawn up for Hunters (Italy, EU and DX) and one for Activators. The winners of each category will receive a special "Winner" Diploma printed on parchment paper at their home as well as a small prize for the result achieved.
