Sunday October 15th all Denmark celebrates HRH Prince Christian’s 18th birthday.
For this reason, the Radio Amateur Associations, FRA and EDR will activate Special Event Stations within The Kingdom of Denmark including call signs OZ18CHR from Denmark, OX18CHR from Greenland and OY18CHR from Faroe Islands.
In the period from October 9th 00:00 UTC until October 15th 23:59 UTC, these call signs will be active on many amateur radio bands with CW, SSB, RTTY and several digital modes. All bands, HF - SHF, including WARC-bands, and all modes may be used.
Every two-way contact or SWL report is valid for the Prince Christian Birthday Award
Contacts with OZ18CHR, OY18CHR or OX18CHR on different bands or with different modes (CW, Phone or DIGI) counts one point.
Ex: Contact with OZ18CHR on 40m CW and 40m SSB and 40m RTTY and OX18CHR on 2m CW will give you 4 points all-in-all.
There are three categories of Awards in each Mode:
DIGI:
DX: GULD=8 - SØLV=6 - BRONZE=4
EU: GULD=14 - SØLV=10 - BRONZE=6
OZ: GULD=18 - SØLV=14 - BRONZE=8
SSB/CW:
DX: GOLD=6 - SILVER=5 - BRONZE=4
EU: GOLD=7 - SILVER=6 - BRONZE=5
OZ: GOLD=8 - SILVER=7 - BRONZE=6
Birthday Plaque will be awarded to the radio amateur with the highest number of contacts in each of the three modes and contact with all three SES call signs.
