The year 2025 marks the centenary of the Réseau des Émetteurs Français (REF) as well as the International Amateur Radio Union (IARU). To commemorate this significant event, the REF, a member of the IARU, is launching a radio challenge for all licensed amateur radio operators and shortwave listeners (SWL) worldwide.
This challenge will take place from April 1 to June 30, 2025, and will include contacts made on the bands of 160 m, 80 m, 60 m, 40 m, 30 m, 20 m, 17 m, 15 m, 12 m, 10 m, 6 m, 2 m, 70 cm, and 13 cm, in the SSB, CW, digital, and satellite modes.
All departments and territories of France, utilizing the prefixes TM, TK, or TX, as well as TM100REF and TM100IARU, will participate in this challenge. Each QSO (radio contact) with the Special Event Stations (SES) will be counted once per band and per mode, and will contribute, according to a defined scoring system, towards earning a certificate. A trophy will be awarded during HAMEXPO 2025 to the top participant in each category: SSB, CW, Digital, and overall operator (all modes), in addition to a commemorative book on the history of the REF.
