On August 25,2017 novinite.com news of Bulgaria reported the Serbian President and former PM, Aleksander Vucic has taken an initiative to reach a compromise in their relations toward their neighboring Republic of Kosovo. Vucic stated that "it was important to have good relations with Albanians and to sort them out once and forever"! Additionally he commented that resolving these issues would would count 80 percent of the existing political problems and secure the peaceful future for next 100 years”!
With these issues resolved both applying countries to European Union (EU) would get into the process and hopefully both soon sit at the same table with the rest of the EU members, of which 23 already recognize Kosovo as an independent nation.
This is also good news for Amateur Radio as within the next few weeks both countries, Serbia and Kosovo, through their national IARU societies will be sitting down in one and same IARU Region 1 conference making plans for securing Amateur Radio's future with one common agenda. From the ITU front Kosovo was recently assigned their country specific "dialing code" (+383) and obtained their place on the following official ITU publication;
