The Kingdom of Tonga has closed its borders and declared a month-long state of emergency and New Zealand has implemented border and travel restrictions. COVID-19 prevention is the goal. Air New Zealand has reduced overseas operations by 80 percent, including service to Tonga and no yachts, cruise ships or foreign nationals are allowed to enter Tonga. Returning Tongan nationals will be put in quarantine upon arrival for 14 days.
