Radio Amateurs members of Bulgarian Federation of Radio Amateurs will be active with special call LZ0AA from Vakarel, Bulgaria.

During the upcoming IARU HF contest 2020 the HQ station operating on 80 meters will transmit from the Vakarel Transmitter broadcasting facility .
The transmitter has not been working since 01.01.2015.
The most remarkable mast of the Vakarel transmitter is the 215 meters tall, weighing 130 tons Blaw-Knox Tower, built in 1937 by the Telefunken company.
This is one of the highest antennas in Bulgaria.
To LZ0AA was given the unique opportunity to be the last to broadcast a radio signal using this amazing antenna.
Shorlty after the IARU HF contest 2020 the antenna will be dismounted.
