Over the past few months, Magdi and I have been working together to address his backlog of unanswered QSL requests. A major challenge was that all his QSL cards were left behind in Khartoum when he and his family were evacuated in September 2024 due to the conflict.

Thanks to the support of the VERON Foundation (the national Dutch radio association), 2,000 new QSL cards were sponsored and shipped to his then-current residence in Cairo, Egypt.

Meanwhile, Magdi has strengthened ties with ERASD, the National Egyptian Radio Association, in his role as a representative of SARU, the National Sudanese Radio Association.

Magdi and his wife, Hala (ST2HA), have since returned to Sudan and are currently residing with family in Dongola City, in the Northern State province.

On February 26th, I received a parcel containing just over 300 written QSL cards from Magdi. I’m now reaching out to recipients to coordinate the best way to send their cards. More than 100 have already been shipped over the weekend.

These cards cover the ST2M, ST0HQ, and ST2BSS callsigns. Please note that I do not have any blank cards available.
