Hi DX News team. In the interest of preserving the neutrality of the amateur radio and the ham spirit, please let the readers know of this shameful act. If you have any sister-publications, please let them know. Much appreciated!
The Oceania DX Contest Committee has decided to follow the steps of CQ Magazine and RSGB and exclude amateurs from Russian Federation and Belarus from this years Oceania DX Contest. From their website:
ATTENTION: Participation of Amateurs from Russia, Belarus and Donetsk In response to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine (facilitated by the Belarusian government) the OCDX Contest Committee has decided to limit the participation of stations from Russia, Belarus, and the separatist Donbas region of Ukraine (unofficial D1 prefix) in the 2022 OCDX Contest.
Logs submitted by these stations will be treated as check logs and contacts with these stations by other stations will have zero points value and will not count as multipliers.
This is a carbon copy of the statement by the RSGB and CQ Magazine, so clearly a coordinated political effort. Bringing the politics in to the hobby obviously causes a great damage to amateur radio.
If you would like to stand up against this discriminatory practice and destruction of the ham-spirit, please let the OCDXC Committee know your thoughts - email them at info@oceaniaDXcontest.com
