6O7O Somalia News 14 September 2019
Arrived safely today. All well here. All antennas installed except 30m after 5 hours. Low bands need more tuning tomorrow to be perfect, high SWR now but had to stop due to sunset. S2-3 noise level on 160 is promising. Seems propagation is poor. Called on 20m no signal. RX coax is trenched 150m away from noise sources and is buried abt 4--5 inch. More info later.

During the 6O7O activation in Somalia I took notice of and wrote down with full callsign those station in violation with DX Code of Conduct rules;
Rule #8 I will not transmit when the DX operator calls another call sign, not mine.
Rule #9 I will not transmit when the DX operator queries a call sign not like mine.
I also logged those in violation with
Rule #10 I will not transmit when the DX station requests geographic areas other than mine.
Based on this I logged 266 full callsigns violating Rule 8,9 and 10. This is about 5% of the unique number of stations called. The statistics shows that 88% of the station were from EU, 11% Asia and 1% NA

Remarkable: NONE of the donors to this DXpedition is on the LIST! None of the persons that violated the DX Code of Conduct have donated.
This is only statistics from 1 single op DX pedition taking place in Africa. We know the % would be completely different for other DXped locations.
No, this is not a complete list. This is only a list of those stations interfering with my transmission such that it slowed down the contact rate or prevented me from working a specific station.
I did not write down those violating
Rule #1 I will listen, and listen, and then listen again before calling.
Rule #7 I will call and then listen for a reasonable interval. I will not call continuously.
Rule #11 When the DX operator calls me, I will not repeat my call sign unless I think he has copied it incorrectly.
This was just an experiment - nothing else
Before I went to 6O I informed that violating the DX Code of Conduct would lead to being excluded from the first LoTW upload. Those 266 stations violating the rules do not qualify for FREE LoTW. LoTW is something you achieve by good operating practise. They will ger their QSO confirmation by Direct QSL.
I never blacklisted anyone from obtaining QSL card. Even those violating the DX Code of Conduct will have their QSOs confirmed, not by free LoTW, but by Direct QSL.
