ACTIVATION 2023

In January 2023, the activation of the radio amateur station of Base Esperanza began, coinciding with the radio cycle of Special Summer Programs of the station LRA 36 "Radio Nacional Arcàngel San Gabriel", the only shortwave radio broadcaster in the Antarctica.

Activation 2023 begins in phone mode, in bands 10, 20 and 40 subject to propagation conditions and activity hours of the base. Subsequently, the operation will be included in CW and digital.

The operator is Juan C. Benavente - LU8DBS of the Joint Antarctic Command, of the Ministry of Defense of Argentina.

The confirmation of the QSOs will be through the Log platform of Argentina; QRZ and physical QSL via Horacio Ledo (LU4DXU), administrator of all Argentine Antarctic bases.

I was operating in hound,but I had no no luck .Your R wasR-17 ,wow! you put a nice signal in Cincinnati Ohio,7,200 Miles .When you will be in the air next?.Please you have a lots of fans in NA . Dad (LU1DFH,SK,military officer) ) provided Phone patches in the 60's to families of military personal in Antarctica.
