I hereby announce our next DXpedition, which will bring us to VK9X Christmas Island and to VK9C Cocos (Keeling) Island in Feb/Mar 2025.
We will be a team of five experienced DXers under my lead – four from Germany (DL2AWG, DF4GV, DL2AMD, DJ9RR) and one from Australia (VK6SJ).
Operation will be from Feb 18 to Mar 4 from Christmas Island, and from Mar 4 to Mar 12 from Cocos Keeling. We will operate three stations 24/7, all with 500W PAs, in CW, SSB, FT8, RTTY. Planned antennas:
20m-6m Hexbeam, 160/80m vertical, 40m-10m DX-Commander vertical, 30m J-Pole, 17/12m Rhombic.
All flights and accommodation are booked and confirmed. We have valid CEPT licenses for VK9 (i.e. VK9/homecall), but we are in the application process for genuine VK9 licenses (callsigns to be announced as soon as issued).
