It is with great excitement that World DXpeditions, Inc. is announcing an upcoming DXpedition to the much sought after Andaman Island; IARU Region 3, IOTA AS-001, with three POTA locations (IN-0003, IN-0005, and IN-0007).
From October 19 to November 2, 2026, a team of 14 operators will be active from Andaman Island, operating five stations 24/7 on bands from 10m to 160m including the WARC bands using all modes. The priorities for this DXpedition will be to provide maximum exposure for sponsors, provide the highest number of QSOs possible to North America, and placing First in the 2026 CQ World Wide SSB DX Contest for Asia.
So far we have assembled a team base of experienced DXpeditioners: W0XB, Steve Keitham, Team Physician, K1LZ, Krassy Petkov; VE2DX, Richard Desaulniers; VU2RS, Sarath Rayaprollu; K1NZ, Nick Maslon; K2SAV, William “Savo” Savacool, Online Content Coordinator; and N4VGE, Van Herridge, Team Leader. Team support members are XYLs Judi Savacool, Vicki Herridge, and Michele Desaulniers. Applications for additional team members and support members are being accepted.
Operations will be from the Andaman Sunset View Resort and with five primary stations with legal limit amplifiers plus a Shack-In-A-Box portable station. All equipment will be fully insured and shipped to Port Blair on Andaman Island. There will be 14 days of 24/7 operation with high gain antennas pointed toward North America to maximize QSOs. Andaman Island’s Club Log rank is #44 for North America and #58 worldwide, making this a rare and exciting opportunity.
