In September 2025, the University of Tokyo Amateur Radio Club will operate as JA1ZLO/JD1 from Chichijima and Hahajima Islands in the Ogasawara Islands. Although the Ogasawara Islands are part of Tokyo, they are treated as a separate entity from Honshu and other regions in the DXCC program, and have been assigned the special call sign JD1. The Ogasawara Islands, a UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site, will be on the air on the HF, 144 MHz, and 430 MHz bands. Specially designed QSL cards will also be issued. Details are as follows. We look forward to receiving calls from many of you.
Schedule and Location
In principle, we will follow the QSL policy announced by the authorities. Logs will be uploaded to Club Log after operations conclude. Additionally, we will issue specially designed QSL cards for JA1ZLO/JD1. Those interested are requested to apply via the form on the QSL Policy page by December 31, 2025.
