    C21GJ - Nauru - EME

C21GJ will be a 6M EME expedition, another by W7GJ. After a survey of most needed by EME enthusiasts, he passed on Lord Howe and the Solomons because others are considering going there for EME. He waited five months for op site confirmation from T2 and finally decided to move forward with C2. He had not even asked EME fans about Nauru because at the time he thought it was too difficult and too expensive to pull off successfully but finally decided to go for it.
He has found what looks like a suitable QTH which overlooks the ocean at moonrise. Moonrise will be the same time as moonset in much of Western Europe. He figures he should be able to work Central and Eastern Europe, plus Africa during their moonrise. His only common moon with Region 2 will be during his moonrise or "while I am elevated." He will post an operating schedule on his website.

Lance notes the great increase in 6M digital activity using WSJT, so he hopes to find many new 6M stations on JT65A mode. He suggests you read instructions on his web page. He plans to access the internet on a regular basis and will update his web page, including with a list of stations worked. He will have trouble elevating above 50 degrees, so try to catch him when his moon his lower than that. He may try some 20M FT8 with an FT857 near the end of the trip after the optimum days for 6M EME have passed.

C21GJ will be a six meter EME operation, another by W7GJ, Lance. He leaves his home QTH in Montana early this week and hopes to be on six from the island by the end of the month, which is six days from now.
He hopes to work many of the larger six meter stations before the first weekend in October "when the Degradation is lowest and 6M EME conditions are optimum, giving smaller stations their best chance."
http://www.bigskyspaces.com/w7gj/Nauru%202018.htm. He says read the webpage to make sure you know the procedures and proper setup of JT65A. http://www.bigskyspaces.com/w7gj/DXp...0Procedure.pdf
      and http://www.bigskyspaces.com/w7gj/JT65.pdf.

Lance plans to use the same frequency he uses for 6M EME skeds from home, 50.190, always transmitting during the first sequence. His site should overlook the ocean to the east. Moonrise will coincide with moonset in western Europe. He will put log updates and status reports
on his own page and the ON4KST EME CHAT page:
http://www.on4kst.info/chat/login.php?band=5. Also, he emphasizes that DXers use the chat page to coordinate their calling frequencies.
Lance also hopes to have room to set up a 20M dipole and some FT8 there when the moon is not up. Any HF operating will probably be toward the end of the operation. He is excited to be giving out a new DXCC entity to many ops.
