As you are aware, the mail service between Fiji and the United States was stopped from 19th August 2025, due to Executive Order 14324 from the US Government on 30th of July 2025, ending duty-free de minimis treatment for international letters. This effectively meant that we were no longer able to mail QSL cards from Fiji to the USA and any country whose destination transits through the US, i.e. Canada, the Caribbean and the whole of Central and South America, including Mexico and Brazil. I had a large batch of direct QSL envelopes for 3D2AG (Fiji) and 3D2AG/P (Rotuma) to mail to the US, Canada and South America, and was getting desperate as to how I could get them to their destination, especially since OMs had been waiting for them for a long time.

Thankfully, the Utah DX Association kindly stepped-in to help, through the generosity of its current President, John Mitton (KK7L). With this arrangement, the UDXA takes care of the shipping of the bulk QSL cards parcel via DHL (which still delivers to the US, but at a much higher cost than regular mail) while I will only pay for the postage to send the letters from the USA . Volunteers from the Association will kindly affix US stamps on the enveloppes, and take them to the local post office for mailing to their destinations. This should make a lot of OMs happy, although regrettably, they will not get a Fiji stamp on their letters this time. I am very thankful to the Utah DX Association for this kind gesture of support for the ham community.

            Kind regards, VY 73
