Denmark's postal service, PostNord is ending all letter deliveries at the end of this year. It is said to be part of the overall decline of postal services in Europe.

It was expected. Postal service in Europe is simply lousy. I sent a few letters recently inside the European Union and it took between 1 to 2 weeks before they were delivered. The cost is prohibitive compared with the cost of Internet connection. Since a few years packages of QSL cards and magazines arriving from outside of the European Union are charged with fees (tariffs). -
It is clear that this is just the beginning and obviously other countries will join this decision.
The cost of postal services in many countries is growing, for example, in Georgia to send a letter is 6 USD.
It's a shame, but it's affecting our hobby.

PostNord is a joint (60/40) Swedish-Danish postal operator, so similar steps are likely to be taken in Sweden. The distribution of mail in Sweden is presently limited to 3 times a week, and in some areas, where the personnel is in danger, not at all.
I personally stopped collecting QSL cards some 35 years ago because of the cost and storage limitations, and no need to impress anyone. However, the QSL-cards were extremely important to new radio amateurs, even in the 60s.Comment

I start in 1968 and QSL are very important for us and I know many people now who enjoy it.
I dont think LOTW or any other electronic confirmation can replace that fun.
Even if you not collecting QSLs you designing your card to make people happy and many people enjoy that also.
