The DX-pedition's RI0B "Arctic Legends" start to the Kara Sea islands is planned for August 25-26, 2018 from Arkhangelsk.
A little history:
Many radio amateurs remember RI0B callsign.During the spring of 2001 the team of HAMs led by Victoria Koryukina (RA0BM) organized the activation of rare islands in the Kara Sea. That expedition was called "Lost Islands". With the helicopter as a vehicle.

In the spring of 2017 Igor Znamensky (UA9KDF) with the team of HAMs made an attempt to reach some Arctic islands: Firnley (AS-054), Tyrtova (AS-121), Nansena (AS-104), Skotta-Gansena (AS-068). Moved on the snowmobiles. From the city of Tarko-Sale they've managed to reach the Dickson settlement. The team couldn't move further because of a difficult ice situation, problems with the fuel for snowmobiles to a final point delivery and huge time expenses. All these reasons have caused the completion of of RT9K/9 expedition.

During the 2017 autumn after the RI1F expedition to Victoria Island trying to avoid possible difficulties, connected to the snowmobiles delivery, the RT9K team took a decision to search for the vessel for a trip to the same islands (Firnley, Tyrtova, Nansena, Skott-Gansena and the Arkticheskogo Instituta). The organization of an expedition again headed Igor Znamensky (UA9KDF). In high latitudes the skilled captain is 90% success of any expedition. The difficult situation into which the RI0B team got during it's preparation was the replacement of "Bristol" motor ship as it has gone broken to the "Apostol Andrey" yacht. This replacement was successfully resolved because of the personal acquaintance of Igor to the legendary captain of yacht - Nikolay Litau (http://litau.ru).
For this expedition Igor requested the special callsign which sucsessfully was issued - RI0B.
On August,18-th Nikolay Litau reported that "Apostol Andrey" yacht has left St. Petersburg on the August, 14-th and was moving up the Svir River.
On August, 23-rd "Apostol Andrey" plans to be in Arkhangelsk where all the equipment will be loaded on board. The next aim will be Dickson Island. Equipment:
