30th Anniversary Humanitarian Expedition to Cayo Coco, Cuba

April 24 to May 4

A team of 8 international operators, experienced in portable / emergency communications, will visit Cayo Coco, IOTA NA-086, to train local Hams in methods to deploy emergency communications in the event of a natural disaster such as what happened to Puerto Rico several years ago.

They will also be donating Amateur Radio equipment capable of being used without hard power.

A team of 5 international operators, experienced in portable / emergency communications, will visit the Island of Cayo Coco to train local Hams in methods to deploy emergency communications in the event of a natural disaster such as what happened to Puerto Rico several years ago.
They will also be donating Amateur Radio equipment capable of being used without hard power.
The operators will be QRV while testing and demonstrating the donated equipment.

Pink Flamingos: The marshes of Cayo Coco are a natural habitat for flamingos. With 150 other species of birds on the island.



There are three species of crocodiles in Cuba, and they are part of the alligator family. What is this? The caiman species is the ancient species that thrived in this location over the years.
