Amateur Radio Special Event at Texas Forest Museum, Lufkin, Tx, USA.
The Deep East Texas Amateur Radio Club (DETARC) will be holding a Special Event at the Texas Forest Museum in Lufkin, TX. The radio club will have multiple radio stations set up in the beautiful red caboose located on the back of the museum property near the forest tower. The purpose of the event is to have fun, educate the public about amateur radio and the local radio club, as well as bring attention to the wonderful and dedicated Texas Forest Museum and staff that we have in our community.
K5F will be operating on 40, 30, 20, 17,15 meters and via the local repeater on 146.940-600, CTCSS of 141.3. Operation will be primarily on SSB, but some CW and FT8 may also be included. Operation will be in the General portion of the HF bands. The operating hours are 1700 to 2200 UTC on May 4th 2019.
All QSOs will be uploaded to LOTW and a special paper QSL will be available via the Club Call address for W5IRP. The QSL card picture is shown above. An SASE will be appreciated.
