Special Event Station PA75OMG
Dear HAM friends,
This is our press release to keep you informed on the progress of Special Event Station PA75OMG.
Special Event Station PA75OMG will be airborne from the 12th of September to the 22st of September 2019, commemorating and celebrating 75 years of freedom.
As part of Operation Market Garden(OMG) in World War II paratroopers of the allied forces, such as American, British, Canadian, Polish and Dutch troops, landed in the Nijmegen region on September the 17th 1944 and the region would soon be liberated after four years of German occupation.
During 10 days we will activate the callsign PA75OMG and try to work as many amateur radio operators across the world.
So far our special event site has been surveyed and we have chosen our antennas as well as the antenna-positioning on the terrain. All the necessary equipment has been collected. HF bandpass filters have been made available by PI4NYM and many other radio-amateurs have been very generous with their equipment. Thanks to all of you.
Sponsoring of the station is at full swing and we are confident that we will reach our final budget for the entire operation. Many thanks as well to all our sponsors who have contributed so far.
In the meantime many radio-amateurs have signed up to join us during the entire operation and to activate the call sign PA75OMG. If you’re interested to join us please drop us a note on the website.
For local publication we designed posters to invite the population to visit us at our special event site. If you find yourself in the vicinity of Groesbeek and Nijmegen, be sure to visit us throughout the activities of the special event station. We are situated at one of the exact landing grounds of the 82nd Airborne division. Next to the poster the QSL design is ready and published on the website. Information is also available on QRZ.COM.
Furthermore don’t forget to visit our website: 5 New pictures and panoramic views have been published lately. You’ll also find our exact location and our contact form.
'Let's commemorate and celebrate 70 years of freedom'
Hoping to work you all soon.
