New activation T46W

The T46W Special Station will be on the air again during the weekend from 29 to 31 of december, 2019. The transmissions will originate from Caibarién, northeast of the province from Villa Clara at the Republic of Cuba. This station will be activated at the bands from 80 to 10 meters and T46W will work in the modes: ssb, cw and ft8. Contacts with the T46W can be confirmed through LoTW.

The operators of this station will be members of the Radio Club of Caibarien, who have conceived a special event to celebrate the CENTENARY anniversary of 1st transmition from Manuel Antonio Álvarez Álvarez (Manolín CO6MA). With her they begin a commemorative day that extends until the month of August of 2020, date in which the centenary of the 1 anniversary is fulfilled. The contacts made on this occasion with the T46W will be valid to opt for a special Diploma that will be awarded in the month of September next year.

"Manolin" has been considered the "Pioneer" of Radio in Cuba. He was born in Santiago de Ambas, in the Beginning of Asturias Autonomous Community of Spain, on Tuesday, September 29th, 1891 at 8:00 a.m. His biographers, especially Jesús Díaz Loyola, will be located on September 21, 1920, the day an intelligible and powerful radio transmission was officially placed from the city of Caibarién, Cuba. This Spaniard, based on the Caribbean island, also stood out as a brilliant amateur radio, this activity for more than 70 years without interruption.

The Special DX and Contest Station T46W of the Radio Club of Caibarién, Manolín Alvarez Alvarez, the pioneer of the radio in Cuba, will be activated in the final days of November.
The Ministry of Communications of Cuba (MINCOM) has authorized the Special Station T46W to broadcast on all bands and modes (160, 80, 40, 30, 20, 17, 15, 12 and 10 meters and in the modes, Phony, telegraphy and digital) to celebrate the centenary of the first radio transmission in Cuba by Manolín Alvarez Alvarez.
The transmissions will originate in the municipality of Caibarién in the northeast of the province from Villa Clara in the Republic of Cuba from November 26th 00:00 UTC and until November 29th 23:59 UTC of the same month.
This transmission will serve to reward the stations that have contacted in three (3) or more occasions, in different activations, with the special station T46W.
