On May 8, 2020, we celebrate the 75th anniversary of the end of fascism and World War II in Europe. Active radio amateurs recognize the achievements of the Allied forces, especially the Soviet Union who bore the brunt of this gruesome war.
The special radio station DM75MIR is located on the 751-m high mountain "Hohe Geba" (JO50DO) in the Thuringian Rhön. This is exactly where the Soviet Army set up its westernmost radio intelligence base. Til today, friendly contacts remain to soldiers and officers who used to be stationed on the mountain.
