GB0JJM - Jack & Jill Mills - UK Special Event Station celebrating Mills on the Air Weekend 2022 - 7th and 8th May 2022.
We are a small group of individual operators, all being members of our local amateur radio society, but having taken it upon ourselves to operate an 'unofficial' Radio Party up at Jack and Jill Mills - located on top (nearly) of the South Downs in Sussex, just a few miles from the south coast resort of Brighton.
This will coincide with 'Mills on the Air' weekend, and we will therefore be 'activating' this famous windmill location over the weekend of the 7th and 8th May 2022.
We're going to be doing things a little bit differently than normal. It will be very informal, we'll be using all kinds of modes, often data-focused, on various bands and at random times. As 'Mills' isn't a contest, this will possibly include some of the WARC bands.
We are not going to be sending or receiving any QSL's, but you're welcome to email us at the above address for whatever reason.
We will be operating from the public car park, and will therefore potentially be QRP during busy periods. We'll be testing multiple antenna systems and various other bits of hardware and software, so if you're local, please drop in and say hello in person and see what we're up to.
You won't miss us - we'll be the oddballs with vehicles bristling with fibreglass masts and lengths of wire.
