    Jan Borek alias. "Jastrząb" (1924-1946), partisan of the Polish army in the country, was born on December 16, 1924 in Lubatowa near Iwonicz Zdrój, in the present subcarpathian Voivodeship. During the German occupation, he allegedly collaborated with local conspiratorial structures. In 1944, he was forcibly conscripted into the army. Your service in the 18. infantry regiment 6. Infantry division of the "people's" Polish army. He was stationed first in Rzeszów and later Przemyśl, after which he found himself at the front. Participated in the battles with Germany, m.in. in the conquest of Kolobrzeg. At this time, his father Cyprian, who in 1939 fought in the ranks of the National Defense Battalion "Krosno" and was in Soviet captivity, became a soldier of the II Polish Corps and took part in the battles m.in. under Monte Cassino. After the end of hostilities, Jan borek and his unit found themselves in the area of Krakow. He deserted on August 18, 1946 and joined the partisan detachment of the Polish Army in the country, the code name" Churagan "(written in this way to distinguish it from another unit bearing the same name), commanded by sergeant Jan ziomkowski" bold " and operating in the mountainous surroundings of Beskid mały. In the conspiracy, he acted under the pseudonym "hawk" and was promoted to the rank of corporal. He took part in actions aimed at soldiers of the Polish people's army, civil police officers, members of the Polish workers ' party, the public security office and communist collaborators. In addition, he distributed leaflets and messages with anti-communist content. He died on 24 October 1946 as a result of an unfortunate accident. The seriously wounded man was transferred to the nearby buildings of the village of sadyba - part of Targanice-on the slopes of Leskoviec mountain, south of andrychów in the Lesser Poland Voivodeship. There he soon died. Buried by comrades-in-arms with honors in a forest grave under the peak of Leskovec. Remains of Jan Bork found he was buried with military honors in the lubatowa parish cemetery on 15 May 2022 during the search work carried out by the Institute of national remembrance in July 2019.
