Radio Amateurs members of the Torbay Amateur Radio Society will be active with special call GB40FIL from Gun Battery Gardens, Brixham, England.
They will operate on HF Bands.

Torbay Amateur Radio Society are activating the Brixham Gun Battery site with the Special Event Station call sign 'GB40FIL' marking the 40th anniversary of the liberation of the Falklands Islands.
Our stations is being run in the spirit of amateur radio; 'Friendship around the world' and as such we will commemorate and remember those on all sides who fell during the conflict - May the all rest in peace.
We will upload our log(s) to EQSL after the end of the event, if we get the oportunity we will try and upload them in near real time.
We will be working HF (multi modes inc FT8) using a Kenwood base rig and two simple antennas: a SOTA Beams Band Hopper for 20m. 30m & 40m and a SOTA Beams End Fed Longwire. If the weather permits we will try to deploy a Hustler BTV 5 vertical as well. If its possible we will also run (depending on operator availability) VHF/UHF SSB etc.
