Wilhelm Conrad Roentgen was born on 27th. March 1845 in Lennep (now known as Remscheid-Lennep). On 8th. November 1895 he discovered X-RAYs. In 1901 he was the first person to be awarded the Nobel prize for Physics. He was advised to take out a patent on his discovery.
He declined to do this so that everyone would be able to make use of X-RAY. His discovery and its uses became universally known as X-RAY.
He died in Munich on 10th. February 1923. 100. Todesjahr von Prof- Dr. Phys. Wilhelm Conrad.
