    Information about RP78BR activity:
The city of Bryansk is more than a thousand years old – it was founded in 985, and in the annals it has been mentioned since 1146 under the names Dobryansk, Debryansk, Bryansk. It is generally believed that the city got its name from the word wilds, which means a place overgrown with impenetrable dense forest. It is located on both banks of the Desna River. Bryansk was often subjected to destruction, finding itself in the center of turbulent events. The city was divided between Russia and the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth for many years, it was repeatedly burned, but rebuilt each time. At the beginning of the XIX century, Bryansk became one of the largest weapons factories in Russia.
During the Great Patriotic War, thousands of Bryans voluntarily went to the front. To cover the strategic area of Moscow, the Bryansk Front was created, which managed to delay the advance of the Nazi invaders for 2 months. To help the front, the residents of Bryansk did everything they could: organized the collection of warm clothes for soldiers, trained nurses, formed militia detachments.
