    TM5JADE - Landeda - France

Radio Amateurs members of the RC de l'Iroise Bretagne, F6KSV will be active using special callsign TM5JADE from Landeda, France, 6 - 8 May 2023.
They will operate on HF Bands.
    QSL via F6KSV.
During the period from the end of 1942 to the end of 1944, the MGB (Motor Gun Boat) 318 belonging to the 15th flotilla based in Dartmouth (GB), carried out numerous missions on the coasts of northern Finistère to drop off equipment for the Resistance and bringing back to England crew members of Allied planes saved by the French clandestine networks, in particular the "Jade-Fitzroy" network and the FFIs of the Landéda sector.

Despite the vagaries of the weather, the fortunes of the sea and the constant danger presented by the strong German presence in the sector, several dozen people (airmen, but also French resistance fighters) were able to escape from France to continue the fight in Great Britain, and large quantities of equipment, weapons and mail delivered to the fighting forces in the Aber Wrac'h sector.

In memory of these operations and to commemorate the discreet but decisive action of these courageous men, the Iroise radio club, F6KSV, will activate the call sign TM5JADE from May 6 to 8, 2023, from the Landéda semaphore, a few cables from the islands where these clandestine operations took place.
