    Information from their QRZ page:
Victory Day is a national holiday celebrated every year on August 30th in Turkey and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus to commemorate the Great Offensive that ended in victory under Atatürk's command in 1922.

The War of Independence is a unique epic of liberation in which the Turkish nation put all its material and spiritual existence on the line. The first step towards the national struggle was taken when Mustafa Kemal Pasha set foot in Samsun on the morning of May 19, 1919. After three years of a very difficult but faithful struggle, the Great Offensive, which started with the first light of the day on August 26, 1922, culminated in the great victory won in the Battle of the Commander-in-Chief on August 30. This victory symbolized not only an armed struggle, but also national unity and solidarity, love of homeland and passion for freedom. The victory was one of the most solid stones laid on the road to independence. Our national identity and values were further strengthened with the victory and inspired other nations struggling for independence.
