    Information from their QRZ page:
The history of the amateur collective radio station RL3A began in October 1974. The club was located in the 3rd microdistrict of Zelenograd (Zelenograd Administrative District of Moscow), with the call sign UK3ACL, and its first chief was Vladimir Vasilievich Ivanov (UA3AFH). From 1982 to April 1999, the club was based in the 10th microdistrict, on the first floor of a 27-story residential building. The call sign changed to UZ3AWL in the mid-80s and then to RK3AWL in the early 90s. The collective was headed by Vladimir Nikolaevich Zakharov (UA3DVF).

Since September 2000, the amateur radio station has been located in the eastern communal zone of Zelenograd, on Sosnovaya Alley. The premises consist of two small rooms on the first floor of a two-story brick building of the city's ROSTO shooting range. The main area of interest of the collective was defined as participation in amateur radio communication competitions on HF. The team has repeatedly become the champion of the country and a prize-winner of world championships. Since 2000, the call sign RL3A has been used in international competitions, and since 2010, it has been used on a regular basis. In those years, the collective received significant support from Zelenograd ROSTO, and by 2014, from the "Central USK Dosaaf Russia for Technical Sports" of the Zelenograd Administrative District of Moscow.

In the 2010s, due to the growth of radio frequency interference, it became almost impossible to stay within the city limits. In 2013, a temporary position was set up in the vicinity of Rabat, the capital of Morocco, with the call sign CN2AA. In 2015, the development of a new territory in the Gagarinsky District of Smolensk Oblast began, and a gradual relocation from Zelenograd started, with a new call sign, UA5L (POU "Gagarin Auto School Dosaaf Russia"). Intensive construction and development of the radio station in Gagarin have been ongoing since 2017 to the present day.
