Tamitha Skov Forecast 30 August 2017
Even though the eclipse is over the Sun remains busy. We have some fast wind expected to hit Earth in the next 24 hours that should raise us to storm levels. That will be compounded by a glancing blow from a solar storm going mainly west of Earth. Together these effects should bring us some decent aurora, possibly to mid-latitudes. We also have 3 active regions firing off C-class flares that are keeping the amateur radio

Are you ready for the Eclipse August 21st? Did you know it brings its own unique kind of Space Weather? Learn more about how the eclipse will affect you, see when the next solar storm will hit and where aurora might be visible, and catch the recent flare activity from the new sunspot that has rotated into Earth view this week.

Propagation forecast from 14 July 2017
Space Weather this week has gotten extremely busy with a new M-flare player on the Sun. Region 2665 has already fired off two M-class flares, a radiation storm, and a massive solar storm that should hit earth by July 17. All of this is causing moderate issues with the amateur radio bands and issues with GPS/GNSS are expected, especially at high latitudes. On the positive side, when the solar storm hits, we could get a spectacular chance of seeing aurora down to mid-latitudes. See details of the coming solar storm, learn how the ongoing radiation storm might affect your flight plans, and find out what else the Sun has in store.

    Propagation forecast 6 - 15-17 June 2017
Space Weather gets more exciting this week with a big coronal hole rotating into the Earth-strike zone in a few days. The region surrounding the coronal hole is also a bit unstable so multiple mini-eruptions have launched, which may be Earth directed as well. Together with the fast wind from the coronal hole this means we should get a good chance for more solar storming starting in the next few days. Expect amateur radio to have issues through the early part of the weekend with a good chance of aurora, especially at high latitudes. GPS/GNSS users should also be alert to issues during the storm and anywhere near active aurora.
